Delicious food and wine, stunning scenery.

Friuli-Venezia-Giulia is the small region in the north east of Italy bordering Austria and Slovenia. The Friulian Dolomites are very beautiful, and the roads are quiet. As you can guess from the name, Friuli-Venezia-Giulia was once part of the Venetian republic and there are some lovely, graceful towns.
We often combine our cycling tours of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia with a tour of the Veneto, or we put together an exceptional multi-country tour taking in Italy, Slovenia and Croatia too.

Self-Guided Tour.

Experience 3 countries in a week, cycling from the islands of Venice and past the golden beaches, vineyards and historic towns of Slovenia, to reach Croatia’s Istrian Peninsula. With easy cycling and so much variety, Venice to Porec is the ultimate cycling experience. Start off with a vaporetto ride (ferry) in Venice before following the coastline to colourful towns and pretty piazzas, stopping off on route to swim in the Adriatic.
As you ride across green plains and pedal towards the Julian Alps, you’ll pass blue lagoons and sparkling rivers, Roman towns and historic fishing huts, plus one of Northern Italy’s most important archaeological ruins. Slovenia’s top beach resorts, historic salt mines and wildlife rich wetlands are something to look forward to towards the end of the tour and the Croatian town of Porec is a lively place to finish – don’t be surprised if you’re tempted to stay longer.
